ENGLISH: We tested FeetUp
We tested FeetUp, an accessory developed by Kilian Trenkle, yoga teacher and entrepreneur from Allgäu, Germany. FeetUp is used in many yoga studios and tested by professionals being a useful enhancement for headstand learning and any inversion practice. FeetUp comes with a inspiring poster with posture and practice proposals.
In Gotta Joga full morning yoga class “Gain Confidence”, we have Full Headstand as a posture included. You can also try it separately from the “Learn Poses” menu. Many of the Gotta Joga users are beginners in their yoga practice and are afraid of trying headstand despite it’s many benefits, like increasing blood flow to your brain helping you to focus. And once you start practicing it, you realize that it is relatively easy as a pose (just need to get used to being head down).
With FeetUp, you can enhance your home practice and learn headstand without putting pressure on your head. Learning with FeetUp and alternating your trials with a wall helps you to learn headstand by yourself. It is a great tool for people who are not there yet to try without support.
A beautiful morning in Lyon, we went outside our offices to try out headstand and other postures which can be practiced with FeetUp.
We liked especially the backbends with Gotta Joga friend Caroline pictured in a bridge pose. Feet Up gives the support to get into the pose and again give a easy position for the head without putting pressure on it. We also tried cobra and a back bend from headstand.
For strengthening poses, you can try FeetUp with pushups or chaturanga as know in yoga and variants of side plank pose.
Any why not a meditative version of a headstand where the knees are resting on the elbows?
Or just meditating sitting on FeetUp avoiding the wet ground?
We had fun and find FeetUp encouraging to learn new things and get by the fear to put pressure on your head.
